Gaza pictures made it to Parliament

WHAT a week! Finally, with a lot of help from friends and fellow volunteers, the Yayasan Salam Malaysia-Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gaza Photo Exhibition took off. It started with a two-week display of photographs at the banquet hall of Parliament. Some 100 photographs are on display over 64 frames. These photographs were taken by Salam's volunteers while on a tour of duty in Gaza over nine days. Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia officiated at the opening of the exhibition accompanied by Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Utama Rais Yatim. There are also a couple of pictures courtesy of the Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza. The pictures will go on a road show to help enhance awareness of the Palestine-Israel conflict, with the PWTC being the next stop in about a week's time. Drop by if you are free. The pictures, apart from showing the huge destruction in Gaza, also depict the people's resilience in the face of adversity. Pictures of children at school and at play contrast with the situation when Gaza as bombarded for 22 days earlier this year.
