Ronaldo, Sanusi Junid, Ian Chin...

CHRISTIANO Ronaldo should don the Real Madrid jersey as soon as possible and entertain the crowd and worshippers at the Barnebeu in the new football season. Alex Ferguson should enjoy his summer break and look for replacements in between the French wines and whatever else.

No doubt Ferguson and the worshippers at the Old Trafford Theatre of dreams would go through a period of scary nightmares and subject themselves to all sorts of withdrawal symptoms. But that's life isn't it?

Man U have gone through this before, and survived. Keano, Beckham, Schmeichel, Cantona - talismen all of them - have gone and pursued separate lifes. They all found that there's life after Ferguson and the numerous trophies and championships.

Man U found new sparks and remain arguably the best supported club in the world. Liverpool (RY), Arse-nal (SAA) and Chelsea (SN) may beg to differ but that's okay by me.

These teams have a tradition and history of their own and worthy of support too. Stoke City is trying to recapture some of the glitter in the heyday of Gordon Banks and George Eastham but it'll take a while (sorry Rocky Bru).

The message is quite simple - if the one you love is no longer sharing the same passion as you, let go. In Ronaldo's case, if his heart is no longer with Man U, let him go. Be practical. The passion may die, but traces of some affection will always be there. That's life.

Tan Sri Sanusi Junid? As everyone knows by now, he's been told to go. He's been axed. Dismissed. Sacked. Say what you like, Sanusi is no longer President of the University Islam Antarabangsa.

Is that life too, you may ask? That's politics. And politics, some may argue, is larger than life, truer than blood and possibly blackier than darkness itself. I really don't know. You tell me.

And almost at the same time, Yang Arif Ian Chin came out from the shadows with his own revelations. There could be variations and versions too. While we battle the traffic jams and keeping an eye on the fuel meter, let's look for little mercies and try to smell the roses if we can.

And maybe Ronaldo can do battle with van der Sar if Portugal and Holland reach the final of Euro 2008. But not if Fabregas and Torres can help it, or even Ballack and Lehman...

datuk oh datuk mat,

yes i have to concur, one should learn to let go.

no player is bigger than the institution that is ManU...

bryan robson was thought to be irreplaceable, but then Paul Ince came to the fore...

Cantona drew the oohs and aahs but Beckham contributed more to ManU's balance sheet

but in politics its different...some personalities loom large over others because of their larger than life characters...

some are better off doing something else...

Salam.

Its gonna be Ronaldo taking on Van Der Sar. The other pretenders can go on pretending.
It would be a pity to be without him but as you say, if the heart is not there then let it be where it wants to be since, some play with the head and some play with the heart and I believe he is the latter.

Letting the time pass me by said...

When it comes to football, I must respect the judgement of Alex Ferguson... With his track records, he knows when he will offload a player and when he need to keep them..

But I am not surprised if SAF let Ronaldo leave Man Utd, but I believe it will be a massive record transfer...

SAF has time and time again demonstrate the ability to built and motivate players to achieve success and greatness... He also demonstrate that football is about team effort and not individualistic. He even offload Ruud Van Nielsteroy who scored 44 goals in a season for Man Utd..

For SAF, he just like to bulit team after team, and I do believe he may want Man Utd to emulate RM as a European soccer force...

I think FA Malaysia should approach SAF to coach Malaysia...

Wah, u perli saya! I am now more driven to set up a Potters' fan club. Only hope the pool and snooker players won't think it's for them.

Thanks for the mention of Stoke City. I am putting my money where my mouth is. Some jobless people who run blog tv think Stoke won't last a season at the top. We'll see.

Already, someone lost a wager about SToke making the promotion list. He is making preparations to eat a a whole football.

As for Sanusi, it's IIU's loss. Dollah does not gain anything, he loses a little bit more with the sacking.

These ARE trying times indeed, more than one could agree.

I have to confess that my time with Manchester United was only when Sir Bobby was still playing - in the mid 60's upto early '70's... now I hardly see any football.

Then I followed Sanusi Joned and the others, especially Dr. M..

Presently, it's the little mercies and the roses for me among the little villages that dot's the foothills of the mighty Titiwangsa.

Man U could lose Cantona, Beckam, Kanchelski, Hughes, Van Nistelrooy, ... but yet move on to win the Euro again.

Losing someone like Keane, made their game different. No mroe that control and dominance. So you see a person does make a difference.

But complaining to the referee after the cup is handed? A bit too late to be of any relevance, isn't it?

Salam Dato.

What a nicely put analogies of circumstances. Well written Dato. Although i really doubt on whether Ballack and Lehman (Germany la..) can still make it to the competition final. Unless they offered themselves to Portugal, Holland and (my goodness im saying this) Croatia. But as for dear Ronaldo...you have to agree, ACES DO GO PLACES. But of course, the same cant be said about Sanusi. Hes no longer the ACES, neither does he has the PLACES. He can still (if hes smart enough) uses this sacking of his to his advantage, OR at least to his still leader, Tun Mahathir. But theres no much space for this news to crave in and create any magnitude whatsoever to my opinion. Simply because, many other people or heads of something (??) have gone through the same. DISMISSED, SACKED, FORCE-RETIRING. Choose whichever we like. Sanusi would had known it better. BUT THEN AGAIN. We are too COMPASSION to let this good sack of POLITICAL SUBSIDY gone for good, right? At least not without a good ol' fashion of JOURNALISM FIGHT. Sir Alex Ferguson will much agrees to that, im sure. So why waste, right? We dont simply write-off when the UNDERDOG still much in rules, nowadays. Croatia did a spectacular on Germany. So can anyone...

Rocky,

Do you need to be reminded of Stoke's fixtures next season?
