I live to fight another day...
"MY FAMILY and I live under constant threats. My life is threatened. It's all because I do my job as a journalist, as an editor, nothing more, nothing less," said Najam Sethi, Editor in Chief of the Friday Times and Daily Times, Pakistan. Najam said this when receiving the Golden Pen of Freedom Award, an annual award given for outstanding and exemplary journalistic work. The award is organised by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers. The award ceremony was made at the opening of the World Editors Forum in Hyderabad, India. In a simple yet meaningful ceremony, Najam said he has been imprisoned several times under the regimes of Benazir Bhutto, Zia ul-Haq and Nawaz Sharif.
