Former Dep IGP Tan Sri Jaafar Abdul died

FORMER Deputy IGP, Tan Sri Jaafar Abdul, passed away yesterday evening (Sept. 1) at just after 5pm at the Gleneagles Hospital in Jalan Ampang. Family members said he died from massive upper gastro intestinal bleeding. His body was taken in a police convoy back to his hometown in Muar for burial at the Muslim cemetary at Parit Bakar Wednesday morning. He is survived by his brother Ahmad and son Jefri. He was 76. He served the police force from 1951 and rose to eventually become Dep IGP. May his soul rest in peace and be counted among the faithfuls. Al-Fatihah.

Saya pernah bekerja dibawah Tan Sri selama 3 tahun di pejabatnya, banyak pengalaman yang saya dapat dan saya kenal beliau. Beliau seorang yang tegas, garang dan berdisiplin...takut saya. Tapi saya tahu dia senang dengan saya sebagai seorang pekerja dia, dan mempercayai saya, tapi akhirnya saya letak jawatan juga. Beliau seorang yang baik walaupun nampak garang sangat-sangat..Saya la orang selalu kena marah kalau ada yang tak kena..orang yang rapat dan bekerja dibawahnya saja yang tahu dan kenal dia...Uncle Chong, Pakcik Mat ... itu yang saya ingat nama...Boy (Jeff) anak Tan Sri..dah lama saya tinggalkan mereka..Dalam kenangan
