SELAMAT TAHUN BARU!

setahun telah berlalu
ada tawa ada pilu
ada senyum manis
ada jeling sinis

lebaran baru menjelang tiba
pasti bawa berita suka
pasti juga ada yang duka
pahit manis diharung jua

ingat
wahai sahabat, rakan dan taulan
semangat jangan luntur
hanti mesti berani
jiwa mesti merdeka

Datuk AAT;

Sebenarnya;

Berani itu punya erti tersendiri;
Ada yang berani kerana berkeluarga dengan perdana menteri;
Ada yang berani kerana mimpinya jadi presiden parti belum tercapai lagi;
Ada yang berani kerana poketnya berisi;
Ada yang berani kerana mahukan semula kerusi;
Ada yang berani kerana mahu berkuasa kembali; sebab di bawah regim ini dia sudah tidak menguasai suara lagi;

Kita yang tiada apa-apa,
Dari dulu hingga sekarang serupa saja;
Dulu derita sekarang masih derita.

Cuma harapannya makin lama makin tiada nyata.
SELAMAT TAHUN BARU UNTUK SEMUA

We may think that everything we do today is based on our "modern" thinking. We may even go as far as saying that we are not influenced by anything, or anywho.

That's right. WE.

What about the rest you've written about before? I'm talking about the small kids who visited your house during Raya. They're stuck in that position, and quite possibly will be stuck there forever.

The parents are also stuck. So does millions others.

So, how 'merdeka' are we?

The rich is going richer, and the poorer is going poorer. Fuel hike, toll, everything today will hurt even the richest here. But what about those people down there?

They are living from paychecks to paychecks, and it's already hard for them.

To them, this is just another year to survive.

All of us are stuck in that ideology. How 'merdeka' are we?

Don't get me wrong Datuk, I'm now questioning you. I'm just upset with the way things are here. It saddens me to see the young people here being influenced in a bad way because they had no motivations in life.

All they know, and care, about is their lifestyle. They have little, if none, desires to even think about their future.

We've been freed from other oppressors for 51 years, but we've not freed ourselves from our own prison; our mind.
